A Bad Brain Freeze
Apologies for the lack of any posting the last couple of days. I recently discovered what a lumbar puncture is .. and that my back has either too much fat or too many muscles to allow for one. So two doctors and five long pokey tries later, and they still couldn’t get to my spinal fluid.
I had a bit of an episode at rugby training. The fires of a thousand suns exploding in my head .. that sort of thing. Not that I’m making light of the situation .. okay, i am. It was pretty scary at the time. With that much pain I wasn’t so much scared as pragmatic .. kind of out of body .. well, if this is it Lord .. look after the wife and kids..
But anyway. There were no side-effects, nothing the doctors could latch onto. So no prognosis either.
The result is that I’ll probably not play rugby for a while
..
Cheers,
Wow!
Stu, take it easy, mate! Rugby is a fine game, but far less important than your health. Take whatever time you need to recuperate and heal.

Hi Stu,
I hope your recovery is going ok.
My ex had to have a lumber puncture once when she was very very ill.
I don’t think it has anything to do with body fat as to how many times it takes to get one done, I think its more the competency of the people doing it.
My ex had a Dr and a student nurse first try to do hers, after an hour and a half, and 27 attempts at getting it right, I forced them to give in. I could not stand the screams and clear bad practice that was going on any longer.
The next day a senior doctor came along, and hit the spot first time!!!
Anyway mate, take it easy and let your body recover properly.
Cheers

Hey Stu,
So this explains your absence, Your presence has been sorely missed around the rugby grounds mate but nothing is more important than your own well being.
I just hope you get yourself right before returning, all the best on a prognosis and a speedy recovery.
See you @ Dave Phillips when you return for a cup of herbal tea.
Take Care,
Tony T.

Hey stu,
i had a lumber puncture last year with that sickness i had nippy little bugger isn’t it. Didn’t take too long though so i’m guessing they must have got it right. Hope you come good soon though. Look after your self!!!!
