“Like GRRM [George RR Martin], Whedon knows how to write death. Loss is part of life, and adds completeness to a story. ”
JW did an episode on BtVS called “The Body” which epitomises this statement.
“- I watch 2.5 eps (one of them is Serentity, the extra long pilot)
- It changes my understanding and becomes and instant, INSTANT success in my mind”
When the show was premiered, the execs at Fox didn’t think the pilot was a good starting point. They wanted something more fast paced so they showed the 3rd episode “The Train Job” first and then slotted in the actual pilot somewhere in the middle! The DVD boxset shows them in the intended order.

Yeah, I read up on what happened. Very sad. F-O-X … bad.
I’ll have to start watching the Buffster sometime. I enjoyed it, just never got round to getting any dvds.

I hated “The Body” but it made me cry and forced the teenages to grow and be pushed into adult responsibilities.
I was also very “smart” and made my comment on the other site – Shiny.
